Intertwined Hearts — A Love Story in Gold and Leather

Wanting to make his sentiment possible, we designed a piece that captured the heart of his idea without compromising on craftsmanship or sincerity. The design features two intertwined hearts, hand-fabricated in 9ct yellow gold and connected with matching jump rings, symbolising unity and strength. The bracelet itself is crafted from a soft leather thong, chosen for its tactile contrast and relaxed, contemporary feel. The leather is knotted for an adjustable fit, which also allowed us to forgo gold findings — keeping the design practical and affordable while retaining its sense of individuality. We discussed the possibility of a silver gilt version, but we explained that, as the hearts were made from open wire, silver would be too soft and could distort over time. The natural movement of the leather would also wear down the gold plating, diminishing the beauty and longevity of the piece. In the end, he chose to invest in solid 9ct gold — ensuring the bracelet would last. His plan for the future made the piece even more meaningful: when he is able, he intends to replace the leather with a 9ct gold chain, evolving this symbol of young love into something lasting and enduring — much like the relationship it represents.
